We believe in supporting the next generation of leaders, innovators, and lineworkers. Through our annual scholarship programs, Big Horn REA connects local students with the financial resources they need to power their futures.

Lineworker Scholarships

The objective of these specialized scholarships is to encourage, train, and educate future line workers for enduring, rewarding careers within the electric cooperative sector.

Big Horn REA Scholarships

Funded directly by your local cooperative for member dependents and local students.
 

Available Awards:

  • Mike Lowe Memorial Scholarship (Focuses on vocational/technical trade tracks); Submit Application
  • Big Horn REA General Scholarship (Open to traditional academic tracks); Submit Application

Basin Electric Scholarships

Offered through our wholesale power supplier to support students attending two-year or four-year higher education institutions.

Wyoming Rural Electric Association (WREA) Scholarships

Statewide scholarship pools managed by the WREA network to support rural Wyoming youth.

Process & Checklist Timeline

  1. Verify Eligibility: Ensure your parents or legal guardians are current active members receiving electric service from Big Horn REA.
     
  2. Gather Materials: Secure your latest academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and written personal statements.
     
  3. Submit on Time: Complete all sections of your chosen application forms and return them to our office via mail, fax (307-568-2402), or dropped off in person before the spring deadline.
