The Energy Efficiency Rebates are available on:
- LED lamps and fixtures
- Energy Star induction cooktops (replacing gas or electric)
- Energy Star refrigerators and freezer recycles
- Energy Star clothes dryers (electric resistance and electric heat pump dryers)
- Smart Thermostats
- Whole House fans
- Attic ventilation systems DO NOT qualify
- Evaporative Cooling
- Electric resistance and heat-pump water heaters
- Energy Star air conditioner (window units DO NOT qualify)
- Heat pumps (air source and ground source)
- Outdoor power equipment electrification (riding mower and walk behind mowers, snow blower, e-bikes, chainsaws, trimmers, leaf blowers, power washers and batteries with original purchase)
Low & Moderate Income:
- Low & moderate income weatherization
- Energy Star appliances (dishwashers, refrigerators or freezers, clothes washes, clothes dryers)
- LED bulbs
- Air source heat pumps
- Water heaters
- Smart thermostats
*Low & Moderate income products have to be pre-qualified through a state agency such as LIEAP*
In order to qualify, you must:
- be a member of Big Horn Rural Electric.
- you must let us know of your purchase within 90 days.
- the appliance must be installed in a location served by REA.
- the appliance must be Energy Star or qualifying model.
- we will need a copy of the receipt and anything that contains model number.
You may find Energy Star qualified appliances at www.energystar.gov.
Once you have made your purchase, give us a call! It’s just that simple. We will gather some basic information, have you mail or email us a copy of your receipt and we will submit the rebate form to Tri-State. Tri-State will process the request and send Big Horn Rural Electric a check. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, BIG HORN WILL MATCH TRI-STATE'S AMOUNT 50%, and in turn, send you, the member, a check.
