We're dedicated to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow right here in our community. That's why we're incredibly proud to sponsor delegates for the annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.! This isn't just a trip; it's a transformative, all-expenses-paid experience designed to empower promising young individuals like you.

Every summer, nearly 1,500 high school students from 44 states gather in our nation's capital for a week of unparalleled education, leadership development, and unforgettable memories. Inspired by a vision to connect young Americans with their government, the Youth Tour offers a unique opportunity to witness our democracy in action.

What is Youth Tour?

Inspired by a vision to connect young people with their government, the Youth Tour allows students to:

  • Explore Historic Landmarks: Visit iconic sites like national monuments, the Smithsonian museums, and the U.S. Capitol.
  • Meet Your Legislators: Engage directly with your U.S. Representatives and Senators, gaining firsthand insight into the legislative process.
  • Develop Leadership Skills: Participate in leadership training sessions and learn about the cooperative business model and advocacy.
  • Connect with Peers: Form lasting friendships with students from across the country who share similar interests and aspirations.

The trip is fully supervised by experienced chaperones and statewide staff, with additional support from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) staff on-site, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for all participants.
