Payment Options & Bill Assistance

Billing & Payment Solutions

Managing your energy account should be simple and convenient. As a member-owned cooperative, we offer a variety of ways to pay your bill and provide support programs to ensure your home stays powered through every season.

Convenient Ways to Pay

Whether you prefer digital tools or traditional methods, we have an option that fits your lifestyle:

Auto-Pay

Set it and forget it. Have your payment automatically deducted from your checking account or credit card each month.

Budget Billing

Take the guesswork out of your monthly expenses by signing up for Budget Billing, a program that allows you to pay the same predictable amount every month.

Invoice Billing

Write one check and send in one stub.  If you have more than one meter, Big Horn can bill you through “invoice” billing.  You can receive one invoice that lists all of your meters separately, showing the usage and amount for each.

Pay at the Bank

Pay your electric bill while you bank.  Our members can pay their bills at Security State Bank in Basin, Bank of Lovell, Bank of Powell, Bank of Greybull.  You must have your bill stub(s) with your payment to ensure credit to the proper account(s).

Pay by E-Check

Pay by phone or on our website. Big Horn REA now offers the option to pay by check over the phone or on the website. There is a $1.00 per account fee charged to pay by e-check. To pay by check through the website, please click on the e-bill box on the home page or click on the Pay My Bill quick link on the home page. You will be asked to log in. You will then have the option to pay by check or pay by credit/debit card.

Pay by Card

Pay by phone or on our website. Big Horn REA offers the option to pay with your credit or debit card. This may be done either by calling our office or on our website. There is a 2.45% convenience fee charged when you pay with your credit/debit card. The added 2.45% convenience fee is NOT a Big Horn REA fee – it is a fee charged by the credit card companies to use this “convenience”. This added fee is what allows Big Horn REA the capability to offer credit/debit card payments as an option.

Financial Assistance Programs (LIEAP & WAP)

If you are struggling to cover heating or cooling costs, state and federal programs are available to help.

  1. LIEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance Program)
Helps eligible households pay home heating bills from November through May. It covers electricity, natural gas, propane, wood, and more.
  1. WAP (Weatherization Assistance Program)
Provides free services to make your home more energy-efficient, potentially saving 5–25% on heating bills.
  • Services include: Adding insulation, sealing leaks, and safety checks.
  • Benefit: Often, if you are approved for LIEAP, you are automatically eligible for WAP.

Life Support Registry

The safety of our members is our top priority. If someone in your home relies on electrically-powered life support equipment (respirators, oxygen monitors, etc.), please let us know.

Why Register?

  • Scheduled Outages: We will make every effort to notify you in advance so you can make arrangements.
  • Unplanned Outages: We prioritize communication with registry members during unexpected power failures.

Action Required: If you are dependent on life support, please Download the Life Support Form (PDF) and return it to our Basin office immediately.
